BYD to Supply Cuba with its Gasoline Model Cars to Boost Tourism
Since entering the Cuban market Chinese automaker BYD was able to win its largest order of 719 cars this including BYD’s gasoline model vehicles such as the L3, G6, M6, S6 and Surui. These cars will be used as car rental services for the island tourism industry s it will be expecting more overseas tourists in the coming years especially tourist from the United States as both countries opened their embassies after years of enmity.
The vehicle order was signed during a visit of a Chinese delegation to Cuba. The delegation leader and mayor of Shenzhen Xu Qin was witness to the signing of the contract together with Cuban Foreign Trade and Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz. Diaz said that they will be welcoming more Chinese brands to provide Cuba with trustworthy products and he also invited the Chinese people to come and visit Cuba.
In 2014 BYD penetrated the Cuban market with 40 orders of passenger vehicles and made the list of the Cuban government procurement catalog in the same year which made them one of the trusted brand of carmakers to enter the country.
