Chinese Train Maker to Supply Multi Unit Trains to Europe
The first ever advanced multiple unit train will roll off the assembly line of China Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co. and will be exported to Europe on Tuesday. Located in Central China’s Hunan Province, the company is a subsidiary of the high speed railmaker CRRC Corp. the motor coach train will be painted red and yellow after the Macedonia national flag is the first of six trains that is purchased by the country with the first coach to be delivered soon.
According to Macedonian Minister of Transport and Communications Vlado Misajlovski who witnessed the finished train to roll off the assembly line stated that the train is of great significance on the cooperation of the two countries and for the Chinese European rail transport. Macedonia is requiring the trains to have a speed of 140 kilometers an hour and the train design has adopted a technology that has a top speed of 160 kilometers an hour to ensure operational safety and will leave room for speed hikes in the future.
The train will have three cars which can carry up to 280 passengers and designed in line with the most strict and safety standards in Europe. The train will be placed on the 215 kilometer long railway from Tabanovce in northern Macedonia and Gevgelija at the southern border of Greece passing through the Macedonian capital of Skopje.
