New Incinerators to be Built in Three DIfferent Districts in Shenzhen
Shenzhen is planning to construct three new incinerators to burn household waste in Longgang, Nanshan and Bao’an districts by 2020. The decision to construct the incinerators is because of the ability of Shenzhen to incinerate falls behind the need as 50 percent of the garbage was incinerated last year.
The amount of household garbage that is thrown daily is said to reach 16,700 tons a day by 2020, but the incineration capacity of the city can only do 7,125 tons a day. Based on the plans among the three incinerators the one in Longgang is new, as for the two remaining incinerators are expansions of the current facilities in Nanshan and Bao’an.
The three incinerators are also equipped with the capability to control ash and other waste that is created by incineration thus minimizing the effects in the environment. The overall capacity of garbage disposal by the time the incinerators will be put to service by 2020 will hit 17,425 tons a day.
