Record Number of Chinese Tourists Visited France in 2015
A record number of Chinese holidaymakers came to France marking a new record of number of visitors visiting the country. According to Laurent Fabius the French Foreign Affairs minister that and estimated 2 million Chinese visitors came to France in 2015. During January to August around 47 percent more tourist coming from China had visited Le Chateau de Chambord in Central France and the number of those Chateau de Versailles has increased by 4.2 percent.
The Regional Tourism Committee released data that showed the number of Chinese visiting Paris and the suburbs went up by 48 percent over the period compared to last year. the committee goal said that they have talked to Chinese officials is to reach 5 million Chinese tourists which will attribute to the growing share of Chinese market to have excellent relations between the Chinese and French authorities.
Based on the fact that China have many visits from French officials and vice versa help with the facilitation of visas and that fact that security is improved and they are showing that they are going the right direction even if its just the beginning of the process. Official data based outside Europe showed that China is France’s second largest tourist market since 2013 following the United States with 1.7 million visitors and gathered around 600 million euros in revenue.
