Circular Road Network to be Built Around Dapeng Peninsula
Dapeng Peninsula have several beaches that are popular with residents and tourists is now planning to construction a circular road network along with a large parking facility that will help control the chronic traffic jams that usually happens on weekends and holidays. Traffic officials from Dapeng revealed to the city political advisers the plans of the road network.
During weekends around 200,000 tourists and 50,000 vehicles can be found flocking to Dapeng, and the traffic lines from Yanpai Expressway and Luofang usually reaches over 10 kilometers. Roads that surround Dapeng peninsula will be built and extended to form a circular road network around the peninsula. Once completed the length of the circular network of road will be at 12.6 kilometers long and the road network is chosen as authorities believe that a circular road network will make traffic smoother
Currently around 8.3 kilometers of road is in use in Dapeng and 4.3 are unfinished. The government is planning to create a 97,000 square meter parking facility near the intersection of Xinda Road and Geographic Park Road which includes a three private car parking lot with 1,593 parking spaces along with a bus exchange. The facility will also have 60 spaces for public coasters and buses and 24 parking spots for tourist buses.
Dapeng officials’ hopes that the extended road network and parking facility will be completed by May of next year and once it opens, the parking facility is the only place private cars are allowed to park and will not be allowed to travel further to tourist sites.
