Futian District Offers New Favorable Policies to Attract More Businesses
Futian district is encouraging Chinese and global enterprises in settling in the area by offering new favorable policies. The Futian district government held a business promotion meeting that was attended by government officials and corporation representatives. District officials are particularly looking forward in bringing in enterprises headquarters to open up and settle in Futian.
Futian will be targeting main sectors such as finance, emerging industries and high-end services. Statistics is showing that over 100 corporation have set p their headquarters in Futian, and last year headquarters of companies have generated 40 percent of Futian’s total gross domestic product. Futian is also targeting the top 500 global enterprises in settling in Futian and currently 85 of the top 500 global companies already opened subdivisions in the district. In recruiting global talent, the director of the district’s human resources bureau Yang Zifeng for Futian district promised to offer more incentives and that the subsidies will be available to returning overseas Chinese students, outstanding team makers and foreign nationals. Returning students that completed their education in other countries and plans to work in Shenzhen can submit applications for subsidies ranging from 6,000 to 12,000 yuan.
Foreign experts that have certain qualification are also granted allowances of up to 1.5 million yuan for research and these foreign experts can also apply for permanent residency depending on the contribution they made to the city. A Conference on International Exchange of Professionals in Shenzhen in April, wherein companies set up stalls to recruit international talent in working in the area.
Officials from the district’s urban planning and construction bureau, Huaqiangbei Subdistrict Office and the corporation service center gave speeches during the conference and introduced a series of changes in the Futian economy.
