President Xi Jinping to Give Keynote Speech During Second World Internet Conference
President Xi Jinping will be present in the upcoming Second World Internet Conference or WIC in Wuzhen in East China’s Zhejiang Province. Xi will be delivering the keynote speech during the opening ceremony that is scheduled on December 16 and 18. The minister in charge of the Cyberspace Administration Lu Wei, that around 2,000 attendees from 120 countries and regions are participating in the conference. Conference participants will include government representatives, international organizations, academics, experts, Internet companies, think tanks, foreign and domestic college students.
Other representatives include prime ministers of Pakistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan together with senior officials from the United Nations, Apple, Microsoft, Lenovo, Nokia, Alibaba, Baidu, Tencent and the Internet Corporation for assigned Names and Numbers. The conference will discuss 22 topics ranging from Internet cultural transmission, Internet development and innovation, Internet technology standards, digital economy and cooperation and cyber space management. There will also be ten sub forums held during the conference with topics such as Internet Plus Strategies, digital China and Internet Innovation.
There will also be an expo and 80 press conference scheduled during the second WIC, showcasing cutting edge technology and the latest achievements coming from 260 enterprises form all over the world. Local officials of the Zhejiang Province said that the changes in the WIC brought Wuzhen provincial economic development as they vowed provide high quality services for the conference.
China adheres to reform and open up to the outside world, and for foreign firms that want to enter China first they should abide the Chinese laws and regulations. Efforts in building a peaceful, transparent and safe internet for the welfare of the people will be proposed during the conference.
