U.K. to Launch New Two Year Visitor Visa for Chinese Nationals
The British Consulate General in Guanzhou will be launching a new two year visitor visa for Chinese nationals. The new visa costs around 85 pounds the same amount with the existing six month visitor visa and will allow visitors multiple trips to the United Kingdom. The same offer will be available to British Citizens by the Chinese Government. The new visa enhances the visa services which offer better value for money and a more flexible travel to Chinese visitors and at the same time ensure the U.K. border is protected.
The new visa policy is launched next week following the announcement of the British Prime Minister during the Presidents Xi Jinping state visit to the United Kingdom last October 2015. The two year visitor visa covers the purpose of tourism, attending conferences, business and setting up of businesses. Applicants still have to undergo the same checks before the visa is granted and Chinese visitors are asked to submit online applications and fingerprints.
The consulate general stated that the new visa arrangements is more convenient along with the plan of extending the U.K. mobile fingerprinting services that is needed for the applications. Chines tourists to the United Kingdom brings in 500 million pounds annually and the number of visitors is rising year on year, this the new visa will allow Chinese visitors to take advantage of the opportunities that the United Kingdom has to offer for tourism and business purposes.
