International Students Given Opportunities to Stay and Get Jobs in Beijing
International students will get more opportunities for internships and take part time jobs and to start their own businesses in certain areas in Beijing under a series of new policies that was released Tuesday. Starting March 1, foreign students are given a short term internship in Zhongguancun a science and technology area in Beijing Haidian district while studying in Beijing universities the students can also take on part time jobs or internships in entrepreneurial companies in the area.
University teachers who are in charge of international student affairs and others that help develop employment opportunities in China applauded the new policies. The director for student affairs at the School of International Education at the university of International Business and Economics in Beijing stated that teachers have been concerned on the international students opportunities for internships, entrepreneurships and jobs. During this time the ministry released a series of measures and regulations that raised employment thresholds for international students.
With the opening of Zhongguancun to international students, they don’t have the need to worry on the issue that much as the center will be providing more possibilities and opportunities for international students that want to find jobs or to start their own business in China. Dongsheng Science Park in Zhongguancan has been acting as an incubator for entrepreneurial ideas that is open for students to partake or look into as a start of their own businesses.
