Shenzhen to Implement 72 Hour Visa Free Entry for Foreigners
Shenzhen will start allowing a 72 hour visa free entry for foreigners for the first half of this year. according to a spokesperson from the Shenzhen airport Group Co. the policy is being finalized and is expected to be practices during the first half of 2016. The new policy enhances the airport’s international services ans will optimize port service functions. There will be also tax refund services for foreign and residents of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau will be introduced as well.
Based on the new policy, passports holders that are issued by 51 countries that doesn’t need a visa in transiting through Shenzhen International airport provided that they hold valid visas for third world countries and plane tickets. The 72 hour visa free transit policy is already introduced in 18 cities including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing and Xiamen. Furthermore the 72 hour visa free entry policy is different from the 24 hour visa free entry that is available to all nationality.
Last 2015, the Shenzhen airport handled 40 million travelers and 12 million stayed in the city for at least one night. As more international flights routes are opened this year, including routes to Paris, Seattle, Melbourne, Jakarta and Maldives and is hoping that there will be an additional 200 international flights each week.
