Baidu to Support Domestic Mobile Internet Developes to Enter Overseas Market
Baidu Inc. has introduced its DU+Plan that will support domestic mobile internet developers in hopes to make profits overseas and has also promised to support Chinese developers into a higher level and expand the apps overseas. There are three stages for domestic developers that will help them achieve success overseas, namely breaking in, standing steady and grow big.
According to Baidu’s general manager in the international product department, the DU Ad Platform or DAP was named making the breakthrough as Chinese mobile internet developers that were planning to enter the overseas market have increased and is growing fast since 2014. Plus the number of non-gaming apps that are developed by domestic developers in Google Play top 100 of non gaming apps has surpassed America’s showing and increase of 26 percent from 2014 to 36 percent in 2105. The proportion of domestic developers ranks first in Google Play top 100 increasing from 25 percent in 2014 to 29 percent in 2015.
An effective overseas business model in making profits is mobile ads, and since Baidu started entering the overseas market in 2012, it achieves commercial realization. But success didn’t happen overnight as the company tried paid download and in-app purchases but both methods didn’t work. And after being inspired by Facebook’s native ads, they were able to successfully adopt mobile ads and helped their products and mobile ad platform in gaining increases in income. DAP will be using strategies such as peak value optimization algorithm, accurate delivery and real time integration to ensure developers achieve commercial realization. As of the moment DAP serves 300 million active users from 230 countries and 600 developers are given access to it.
