ZTE Mobile to Tap into the Virtual Reality Sector and Release First VR Product
ZTE Mobile Devices is planning to tap into the nascent virtual reality sector and release its first Virtual Reality product, based on a tweet that is posted on social media by one of the executives. CEO of ZTE Mobile Devices Zeng Xuezhong, posted on Sino Weibo that users can hear the announcement of the firm’s second generation flagship AXON’s display that will be equipped with the capability of a good immersive VR experience that requires a Quad High Definition display.
All appearances is a 2K resolution screen of a smartphone that is unrelated to VR. Although ZTE smartphone development strengths in the area of display matters with knowledge and know how for the importance of a dynamic color range, response time and contrast ratio in order of have a good VR experience. According to ZTE, they have been paying close attention to research and development of the virtual reality and augmented reality technology for the past years. and earlier this year the company revealed to the media is closely monitoring and doing research of using VR for mobile devices. The company is also an official member of the Open Mobile Alliance cooperation saying that it is actively promoting the development of the AR technology industry standards and power technologies.
Zte is following the footsteps of the newly launched Gear VR of Samsung at the Mobile World Congress that was held in February, while Huawei also unveiled its VR headset that works with their flagship smartphone P9 earlier last month. Another smartphone seller Xiaomi Corp. also claimed in January that their new research and development center is established and is aimed at expanding business wings into the robotics and VR sector.
