The Snake Pit Is A Shenzhen Institution
The Snake Pit is a Shenzhen Institution and one of oldest established bars in China. It was originally formed to service the oil industry workers working offshore in the South China Sea. The Snake Pit is now the focal point for the Shekou expat community and is home to the local Hash House Harriers as well as The Shekou Pythons Rugby clubs. It is a members only club with admittance requiring someone at the bar to vouch for you. There is a time honored drinking ritual to join and some of the cheapest beer in China.
