E-commerce company to set up its headquarters in Shenzhen
A Chinese e-commerce sit and market place Alibaba will set up its headquarters for international operations in Shenzhen. The city’s advantage in talent and geographic proximity with Hong Kong is the perfect gateway to expand overseas.
Alibaba will establish its Research and Development center for its software business in Shenzhen and the company will be cooperating with the city in different fields including electronics and information, banks, insurance and logistics. Alibaba also hopes to help upgrade the manufacturing industry in Guangdong and promote small and medium sized enterprises to the world.
Alibaba was founded in Hangzhou, 10 years ago by Ma Yun, and since then the company has grown to be one of China’s largest internet companies focusing on e-commerce services. Currently Alibaba have 5,000 employees and will be creating more job opportunities when it will open its office in Shenzhen.
It’s a great initiative, the local government are determined to build a super-city & people here, from my observations, seem similarly motivated in all other aspects of their lives to see Shenzhen become the same.
Shenzhen will not only become the number city in China but it will also become the number one city in the world. For example, Shenzhen Air at http://www.shenzhenair.com has huge aspirations not only to become the number airline in China but the whole world.
Great to see they have done their research and determined that Shenzhen is the No. 1 city in China
