Domestic Smart Phones Surpassing Foreign Rivals in Second Quarter Market Shares
Domestic smart phone makers are battling foreign rivals as they posting bigger market shares for the second quarter for this year. Local brand Xiaomi has sold more smart phones than any other smart phone producers in the country for the second quarter taking around 18 percent of the market share based on the latest figures.
Vivo and Huawei, Shenzhen home grown brands took 10 and 16 percent of the market share with Huawei ranking second and Vivo taking the fourth place. Apple took the third spot having a market share of 12 percent and Samsung fell from fourth to fifth garnering 9 percent of the market share. Experts say that the increase of the popularity of domestic brands is due to their improved designs and innovative technology.
