President Xi Jinping to Call for Better Care of the Aging Population in China
Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee has called for better care of the aging population in China. The remark was made during a group study that was attended by members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee about the future and state of the graying society. Xi emphasized the importance of meeting the needs of the number of elderly and to solve their social problems.
China has the world’s largest number of senior citizens, and china recently have improved their elderly care, but a lot still remains to be done and a big gap between reality and expectation of happy years from the elderly. And because of such a large number of aging population, careful handling of the issue is needed on the overall development of the nations and people’s well being. Respecting and caring of the elderly is part of the Chinese traditional virtue and should be carried out in modern times, plus the elderly should develop a sense of independence and self respect.
XI have also urged the continuous improvement for the elderly care system and it will be enhanced by scientific study and learning constructive experience coming from other countries. Pension insurance and medical insurance systems must be perfected along with supporting policies must be provided for the family pension mode and showing loving care and service for the elderly that are left at home. Elderly must be encouraged to play an active role in moral education and resolving any social conflicts. XI have also pointed out any bright prospects of the old age business that given a huge demand for products and services and government support must foster new growth points.
