Education Sectors Sees Biggest Rise in Employment Opportunities
Primary and secondary education sectors have seen the biggest increase in job opportunities as these sectors provides 8.7 percent of the total job opportunities for graduates in 2015. This is an increase of 2.2 percent over 2014 which is based on a employment report of Chinese college graduates in 2016 that is released by MyCOS and education consulting company.
Although the average salary of graduates joining the primary and secondary education sectors were at the lowest or about 3,500 yuan in just six months after graduation. Other five sectors that have a recorded job increase are internet development and application, medical care, finance, publishing and finance. Collage graduates joining the internet development and application sector are the best paid having an average monthly salary of 5,000 yuan six months after graduation. The proportion of undergraduates that took job opportunities increased by 3.4 percent from 2010 to 2015 and the ratio for higher vocational college graduates from 2013 to 2015 stands at 2.4 percent.
The five occupations that seen the sharpest decrease in work opportunities were machinery or instrument, architectural engineering, marketing, electrical of electronics and automobile engineering. Architectural engineering saw the biggest decrease dropping 1.6 percent compared to the previous year but still provided 6 percent of the total job opportunities. It also was among the cluster that saw an increase in jobs from 2011 to 2014 and the decline in 2105 due to tight national policy on properties.
