For the year 2014, China recorded around 928,000 invention patent applications which is more than any other country. This number of applications has been going on for the fourth consecutive year. China plans to triple the number of patents they file by 2020 as the government is looking to boost the high tech economy in several areas ranging from agriculture to pharmaceuticals.
